ACCESS PT is a medical billing company specializing in physical and occupational therapy billing services. The company is located in Campbell Hall, New York. We are looking for a Benefits Specialist to work Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. This position is located in our admin office in Campbell Hall, NY. This is an in office position. Remote opportunities are not available.

In this role, you will work closely with the Supervisor of VBEN’s and the Director of Revenue Cycle. In this role you are expected to ensure proper set up of accounts and VBEN’s as well as decrease missed opportunities by assisting patients to interpret and better understand their insurance benefits in both IN and OON situations. You are responsible for verifying patient’s insurance coverage, to ensure necessary procedures are followed properly and efficiently. T

Assigned Responsibilities or Duties:

  • Responsible for verifying new patient insurance and ensuring patient accounts are set up accurately to ensure proper billing.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of core aspects of relevant insurances and communicate any insurance process/procedural changes to the Supervisor of VBEN.
  • Ensuring VBENS are written clearly and are easy to understand.
  • Maintain proper documentation and tasking to ensure excellent communication through our EMR system.
  • Ensure that tasks are responded to within 24 hours or within assigned timeframe per task type.
  • Work closely with the Supervisor of VBEN’s to develop, maintain workflows, processes, procedures, etc.
  • Following proper procedure for communicating patients benefits to the PC or Lead PC at the appropriate front desk.
  • Must be cognizant of and responsible for all front desk confidentiality requirements according to HIPAA Policies and Procedures of Access Physical Therapy & Wellness.
  • Positive relationships with potential patients as well as other team members.
  • Work closely with the appropriate director of the location in which a patient may need a payment arrangement.
  • Work closely with the Supervisor of VBEN’s to ensure proper training.
